CHAPTER 1 
INTRODUCTION TO INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY 
As you can see the first chapter of science computer is the overview of IT. With this topic we can know the definition of IT , fields , advantage and disadvantage of IT. 

 IT is defined as the use of computer hardware and software to store, retrieve and manipulate information .

 An advantage of Information technology is :
1. Easier communication
  • with the use of high technology such as phone gadget, we can use it to call or mesagging the people that are far apart from us through WhatsApp , Viber and Skype.
2. Globalization of knowledge
  • Today era has the fast internet that make us can access anything by any minute to get the information . We can access through Google to get the latest information around the world by using a computer .
The Disadvantage of Information Technology :
1. Social Implications
  • As we can notice , people nowadays really spend their time looking at their phone rather than talk with people around them. This is because they were addicted to the gadget and this can make them quick to give up on their life when their gadget was missing or left out at the house.
2. Internet security issues :
  • When customer make an online transactions, they need to provide their personal information. This act actually can make someone in a dangerous situation because some experienced hackers will easily break through the system and using the customer information for their own need.
Fields of IT
  1. Finance - online banking, Electronic Payment System (EPS)
  2. Education - Courseware, Educational portal (e-portal)
  3. Science - a cochclear implant, an electrodes implant
  4. Publishing - composing and enhancing songs, filmmakers in creating and editing film
  5. Health Care - Medline, Telesurgery
  6. Travel - Navigation Sytem by Global Positioning System (GPS) 
  7. Government
  8. Manufacturing - Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM)
